Founded in 2019 by Manuel Zapp, Johannes Korves, Christophe Hocquet, and Bérenger Laurent, natif.ai has its origins in and support from the renowned German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI). In 2024 natif.ai was acquired by DocuWare for both its powerhouse team and its state-of-the-art AI technology.
A strategic decision was made by natif.ai and DocuWare to maintain the company location in Saarbrücken, Germany, as the close proximity to the DFKI ensured a continuous seamless knowledge exchange between natif.ai and the research center.
